A 22-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at Arras station, in Hauts-de-France. He is suspected of having stabbed an employee of a bakery in Bagneux.

The mystery remains as to the motive for this homicide. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the victim died from his injuries. He suffered from 5 wounds, including one on his carotid artery. The investigation was entrusted to the sub-direction of the Hauts/de-Seine judicial police. The man lived in Argenteuil, in Val-d'Oise, and was unknown to the police. He was arrested at the station and placed in police custody on Friday April 12 late in the morning. The bakery employee didn't know the victim well. She does not understand what could have motivated an act of such violence. “It’s a quiet neighborhood, we’re not used to this kind of event,” says the merchant, who often encountered the bakery employee.
