Nantes: a man and a woman in police custody for extorting 13,000 euros from disabled people. Two Roma were taken into custody on Thursday on charges of ‘extortion against a vulnerable person’ The alleged victims, both Romanians and disabled, were allegedly threatened with death.
The two Roma arrested on Thursday were still being questioned at the Nantes central police station on Friday morning. The pair had initially provided undetermined help to their compatriots, at the time of their installation in France, six years ago.
