A man in his forties was taken into custody for intentional homicide of a spouse in Cagnes-sur-Mer, near Nice. The 42-year-old man was known to the courts for numerous offenses and had already been convicted of domestic violence in 2014.
On average, a feminicide occurs every three days in France. The Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti, put forward at the beginning of January the figure of 94 feminicides in 2023, compared to 118 in 2022.
