Carrefour Israel, part of French retail giant Carrefour, will launch 50 branches across the country tomorrow. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Economy Minister Nir Barkat celebrated the chain's official entry into Israel.

"This is a historic and important achievement that will lower prices and finally open the market to competition," Barkat said. Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid claimed that the move was led by the opposition, particularly former Economy Minister Orna Barbivai. "I have no doubt that Netanyahu simply forgot to thank the government of change," Lapid said.
