Nine years in prison for fatal samurai sword attack. German of Filipino descent killed his cousin in July 2014 by first hitting him on the head with an empty glass bottle and then stabbing him several times with a samurai sword.

During the trial, the defendant admitted responsibility for his cousin's death. However, he denied murder out of greed, as initially accused by the public prosecutor. The defense had requested four years for manslaughter in a less serious case. The judgment is not final, but an appeal against it is possible.
