Six opposition leaders to the Nicolás Maduro regime remain as refugees in the Argentine embassy in Caracas. They are linked to the presidential candidate María Corina Machado and were ordered to be detained by Chavismo.

Argentina urged Maduro to "call transparent and free elections" and end the political persecution of opposition leaders. The Government of Javier Milei crossed Maduro for his political persecution and demanded elections free. The six leaders are: Magalli Meda, Humberto Villalobos, Pedro Urruchurtu, Omar Gonzalez, Fernando Martínez Mottola and Claudia Macero.
