One meter of fresh snow and a power outage: weather chaos hits Austria - then a turnaround follows. In some areas temperatures can climb to 16 degrees.

From Sunday, a stable and foehn-like southerly current is expected, which will move from south to east in the next few days. The winter chaos caused fallen trees in parts of Carinthia, blocking numerous roads and leading to power outages. The Brenner motorway was closed for several hours on Friday between Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass. There will be no new snow chaos for the time being.
