"The full admission of Palestine to the UN would be an important pillar for achieving peace in our region," says the Palestinian president. The Jewish State has a different opinion.

"Do you really think that this resolution changes the situation on the ground or would bring peace closer?" asks the Israeli ambassador to the Glass Palace, Gilad Erdan. "If this resolution passes, this Council should no longer be known as the Security Council but as the Terror Council," adds the Israeli envoy. "How detached from reality can the Security Council be to even consider a resolution proposing the full admission of Palestine?" asks the Palestinian ambassador. "Those who obstruct this result do not help the peace process between Israelis and Palestinians and in general in the Middle East," says Palestinian president Ziad Abu Amr. "It is time for the Security Council to give justice to the Palestinian people," he adds.
