Paris is hosting the Olympic Games while France is on maximum alert in the face of the threat of attacks. The security of the events will be ensured by some 35,000 police officers and gendarmes on average per day throughout France (25,000 for the Paralympic Games). Added to this are at least 18,000 soldiers and up to 22,000 private security agent daily.
