Price of petrol in served mode has exceeded 2.5 euros per liter in various systems both on the motorway and urban networks. There are an ever-increasing number of fuel distributors selling green fuel above 2.4 euros per Liter.

In Italy for every liter of petrol purchased by motorists, over 1 euro goes in taxes, equal to 56.4% of the price paid to the pump. At current prices the State earns almost 3.2 billion euros per month in fuel taxes: 990.6 million on petrol and almost 2.2 million on diesel. "As price lists at the pump increase, state revenue increase, but the government would do well to also consider the indirect effects on supplies and the consequences of high petrol prices", says the president of the scientific committee of Crc, Furio Truzzi. The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy observes that just as there are "a few dozen distributors who charge a higher price for what is served", at the same time there are'several thousand who, to date, charge a lower price than the national average'
