Police shoot a student who entered a Texas school armed and prevent “a tragedy”. No officers, teachers or students were injured during the incident at Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy high school in Mesquite.

Police declined to identify the student or describe his injuries. “We are grateful that a tragedy was avoided and that nothing worse happened,” Travis Block, spokesman for the Mesquite Fire Department, said at a press conference. “Everyone on campus is safe and secure,” the school added.
