Pro-Palestine marches in Florence and Pisa, protesters charged. The attempt to reach the American consulate was blocked in the Tuscan capital.
Lightening charges were fired when the demonstrators tried to advance. The whole area around Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the headquarters of the University of Pisa overlooks, is surrounded by the police. The march was made up of grassroots unions, students and the Palestinian community. The procession then returned to Piazzas Ognissanti for the final speeches.
