The Aitel, a freshwater fish, is currently spawning in the gravel on the Isar. In order to protect the eggs and the small fish, the district fishing association set up an exclusion zone.

Stepping on the gravel, both spawn and fish can be crushed in the larval stage. In the coming weeks, the conservation rangers will pay attention to whether the barrier is taken into account, says Florian Herzinger, chairman of the Bad Tölz District Fishing Association.
