Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), the regional branch of the organization, could be responsible for the attack, according to all specialists. Founded in 2014, first with former Afghan and Pakistani Taliban commanders, the organization takes its name from the medieval name of Afghanistan, which then represented part of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
