Russia's army is reportedly recruiting new Ukrainian fighters. 16,000 people have reportedly volunteered for the military in the days since the attack in Moscow.

Authorities speak of 100,000 new volunteers since the beginning of the year. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called this “further evidence” that the Russian people support President Vladimir Putin and the offensive in Ukraine. Last year, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu set a target of 745,000 volunteer recruits for 2024. In addition to the 144 deaths, 360 people were injured in the attack on the Crocus City Hall.
