Riccardo Bossi probed for alleged citizenship income fraud. Bossi has already had several brushes with the law in relation to financial crimes.

In March 2016 a Milan court sentenced him to a year and eight months in prison for aggravated misappropriation for using Northern League funds for personal expenses. He is the eldest son of populist right-wing, anti-immigrant and secessionist Northern League founder and ex-leader Umberto. His younger brother Renzo and father have also been at the center of judicial probes for alleged misappropriations of party funds.
