Charles-de-Gaulle airport is celebrating its 50th anniversary this Friday. This unique work – the circular terminal 1 – is the first creation of the very young architect of Paris airport (today Aéroports de Paris or ADP), Paul Andreu.

Since then, he has designed around twenty other airports and several emblematic works such as the Peking Opera (China) or the Osaka Maritime Museum (Japan) The career of this major architect of the 20th century is the subject of an exhibition at the Cité de l'Architecture until June 2.
