Sales of gas heating systems rose sharply again last year and reached a record level: 790,500 boilers were sold in 2023. Sales of oil heating even doubled compared to the previous year to 112,500.
While oil heating systems continue to be in high demand, demand for pellet heating systems collapsed. The goal of the traffic light coalition, according to which 500,000 heat pumps are to be installed in Germany from 2024, is unlikely to be achieved so quickly. The reason for this development could be, among other things, the uncertainty among consumers in the wake of the Building Energy Act.
