Teodoro Villarruel, 75, shot and killed his daughter Eugenia, 49, after a Zumba class in La Carlota. After committing the crime, the man took his own life with a gunshot to the head.
He had had two complaints for violence against his daughter, in 2020, and his wife, in 2022. The man was a well-known lender in the area who did not have a good relationship with his daughter's new partner. According to reports, family differences have deepened in recent months due to economic issues.
