Smoke from a chemical experiment: Weilheim high school evacuated. Nobody got hurt.

School principal Andreas Pauline Martin informed that the cause was an experiment in a chemistry lesson in which a small magnesium ribbon was ignited as part of the experiment. “The chemistry teacher acted absolutely compliantly and followed all safety regulations at all times,” she said. The evacuation by the school was exemplary and the fire brigade was on site within a few minutes. ‘At no time was there any danger to our student body or staff, as everyone acted very responsibly,’ said Martin.
