Temperatures rose above 25 degrees in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia on Saturday. The thermometer in Jena showed 27.8 degrees Celsius, well above the previous high for April 6th, which was measured in the city in 1961 at 25.6 degrees.
The warmest corner was the Thuringian Basin, as meteorologist Florian Engelmann said in Leipzig. High “Olli” and storm low “Timea’ are responsible for the unusually warm weather.
