Yair Golan officially took office as chairman of the Labor Party. Gilad Karib and Naama Lazimi declared their support for him for chairman.

Golan started his political career in the September 2019 elections with former Prime Minister Ehud Barak who joined Meretz. Only former minister Amr Bar Lev announced that he is considering running against Golan for the leadership of Labor Party in the primaries to be held in May. "We have an opportunity for a political-security, economic and social horizon, a horizon for life itself. This is our time, join us."
