The deficit in childcare facilities that the municipality has to bear is growing and growing. For the 2023/24 care year, which runs until September, the municipality will probably have to pay around two million euros more.
If the deficit were to be divided equally between the municipality and parents, parents would have to accept a 91 percent increase in fees. The fees have already been increased by 20 percent as of September 2023. But that just covers the additional costs incurred from 2022 to 2023 and the municipality's share of the total costs remained unchanged.
