Highway 40 and Highway 90 were closed to traffic this evening due to heavy rains falling in the southern Dead Sea and in the Ramon Crater area. The police issued a warning of danger due to the rain, and the meteorological service informed the public that they should immediately leave the riverbeds in the area.

"It was raining crazy here," said an Ein Gedi resident. "We've been preparing for two days now. Nature has not disappointed, it's a spectacular sight, but you have to be very careful."
