Biden needed 1,968 delegates to win the Democratic nomination - and he reached that goal tonight, with the results of the Georgia primary. Hours later, Trump amassed the 1,215 delegates needed to secure the Republican presidential nomination in primaries held in four states, including Georgia.

This will be the first time in 70 years that the same main candidates will compete head to head in two consecutive elections. In all, 161 stakes were at stake tonight in Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi and Washington state.
