Brian Wilson, 81, was diagnosed with a serious neurocognitive disorder, such as dementia. His wife, who cared for him, died on January 30 of this year.
His representatives have asked the court to exercise joint guardianship of the musician. The trial is scheduled for April 26 in Los Angeles. The former member of the Beach Boys will still be able to continue enjoying his family and friends normally and participate in different projects that he currently has, his family said in a statement Thursday.
