Ministry of Health has published a new outline aimed at improving and reducing regulation in the field of medical cannabis in Israel. The new outline is expected to significantly reduce the scope of regulation of those engaged in the medical cannabis market.

There are more than 120 medical cannabis license holders in Israel, the highest per capita rate of any Western country. The outline will help reduce the bureaucratic burden on patients and reduce medical cannabis prices for them, creating long-term certainty for those involved in the market. The exclusion of non-psychoactive components from the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance and the implementation of the gradual transition from licenses to prescriptions will facilitate the provision of medical treatment with cannabis.
