The municipal police officers of Vigneux-sur-Seine were decorated for having neutralized a madman armed with a knife. For this act of bravery, the six civil servants and their department head were distinguished on Tuesday March 12 by the mayor, Thomas Chazal (LR), who presented them with the city medal.
“As we often do, we were on surveillance in front of the station because it is a place of passage. At one point, a man approached us. He was wearing a hat and a neck warmer. He spoke to me in his language, showing me his eye. I didn't understand what he meant. I told him I wasn't looking at him but he slapped me.”
