The first examples of the 146 new MI20 trains long awaited on the RER B should not be delivered by Alstom before... June 2027, in the best case scenario.

The reason for this umpteenth delay in fact lies in a new European directive imposed on railway vehicle manufacturers. These must now be subjected to a crash test with a truck on a level crossing to be approved. And the fact that there is no level crossing on the entire Rer B line changes nothing. Result: the delivery of the MI20s will be at least six additional months late.
