Peasant anger has shaken France since mid-January. Despite heavy-handed operations and protests from environmentalists, the anger of farmers enjoys broad support in the country.

This is the first time since 1992 and the demonstrations against the reform of the common agricultural policy that such protest by the peasants of France comes to light. While an Agricultural Show opens this Saturday under high tension, the agricultural unions, from the FNSEA to the Rural Coordination, have also continued to maintain the pressure, with dotted actions throughout the week.
