US Department of Defense published its long-awaited report on UFOs this Friday. The Pentagon maintains that sightings of unidentified flying objects are actually "ordinary phenomena" that turn out to be "misidentified" The researchers detail that the large amount of content about aliens in popular culture has generated the "perception" in a part of the population that the Government has been conspiring to hide the existence of extraterrestrials from the public.
According to the document, the United States has been investigating UFO sightings since 1945 to determine if they pose a risk to aviation.
