The shopping center at Leonrodplatz is getting old and the building structure is poor. The Stadtsparkasse has presented plans for a new building with student apartments.
Planning and testing for the new building is already underway. The district committee is calling for reduced rents for the planned student apartments and a new high point in the area. The supermarket, the pharmacy, the drugstore and the kindergarten will all move out when their rental contracts expire at the end of 2024. The building will then be demolished and rebuilt.
