There are 60 seats to be assigned, after the split ten years ago which eliminated 20: there are 59 plus the runner-up among the presidential candidates. Cagliari is always the most represented with 20 councilors, followed by Sassari with 12. Nuoro, Oristano and Gallura will have 6 each, 4 will be elected in Sulcis, 3 in Medio Campidano and 2 in Ogliastra.
