The son of the consul in Miami is accused of running over a policeman on purpose: "He hates waiting in traffic" 19-year-old Avraham Gil was arrested after hitting a policeman with a motorcycle, who demanded that he stop for a traffic check. His lawyers claim that he enjoys diplomatic immunity, but it is not certain that the law also applies to family members of consuls.
The hearing in his case is set for February 26, and his lawyer says the charges against him may be dropped because of his father's immunity.
