The US presented a compromise proposal regarding the number of Palestinian prisoners to be released in the hostage deal. The issue of the "keys" that determine how many Palestinian prisoners will be released for each Israeli abductee is the main issue around which the negotiations have been taking place in recent days.
A senior Israeli official noted that during the talks a significant gap was revealed between the parties regarding the prisoners' keys. "We are now waiting for Hamas' answer. The negotiations are not simple. There are significant differences of opinion," the official said.
