The week of FigaroVox - “Social outbidding in the Assembly’. Two legislative proposals have been presented which demonstrate the insatiable appetite of French parliamentarians for the extension of the welfare state.

The first provided menstrual leave for women suffering from painful periods. The second, which was voted on Thursday, is the law establishing a new offense of “hair discrimination”. Obviously, these two proposals start from good intentions, but they reveal an addictive relationship with the State, invoked to repair the slightest inconvenience.
