A Chacarita Juniors fan died after being stabbed in a fight in one of the stands of the San Martín stadium during the first half of the match. The violent episode occurred at halftime of the local team's match against the Mendoza team.
The game was delayed at halftime until referee Pablo Giménez decided to continue it with the approval of the head of the police operation after a meeting in the locker room. Cañuelas and Midland were to play this afternoon for the inaugural date of the Primera B Metropolitana. The match was suspended before its start due to incidents that occurred outside the stadium.
