Three dead and eight injured in accident in Emstek, Lower Saxony. Man, 40, drove his car into oncoming traffic on Federal Highway 72 on Saturday evening.
He collided head-on with a car and rammed the rear of another. The B72 was closed for around six hours while the accident was being investigated. The driver of the car with which he collided with suffered life-threatening injuries - as did the other passengers of the person who caused the accident, aged 30, 32 and 36.
