The cabinet chief referred to the candidacies with high inflation and the percentages they obtained in elections. Eduardo Angeloz ran as presidential candidate along with Juan Manuel Casella and was defeated by the Justicialist ticket Carlos Saul Menem-Eduardo Duhalde.

While Mauricio Macri, in the 2019 general elections in which he sought re-election, obtained 40.38% (10,470,607 votes) and lost against Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner, who took 48.10%.
