Traffic jams put vacationers and day trippers to the test of patience. Around midday, the Oberau and Farchant tunnels had to be switched to block handling.
The traffic disruption extended from the end of the A 95 motorway to the state borders of Mittenwald Scharnitz and Mitten Wald Leutasch. Many people got out of their vehicles and stepped onto the road, which resulted in dangerous situations. Around 6 p.m. the situation eased and the traffic jam on the B2 cleared up.
