A fatal accident occurred at the military training area in Hohenfels. The Dutch soldiers are mainly preparing for the upcoming deployment in Lithuania. They are part of the “Mission Enhanced Forward Presence”, which is intended to secure the Eastern European NATO member states. This is a response to Russia's increasing threat potential.
