Trump defeated Nikki Haley in the primary of the Republican party in South Carolina. The former president said immediately after the polls closed that the expected results are "a bigger victory than we expected".
Trump added: "I have never seen the Republican Party so united as it is now, there has never been such a spirit" Trump's victory in the state indicates his great power in the party - since Haley, his opponent, grew up in South South Carolina and previously served as its governor.
