For its part, the Palestinian Islamist movement welcomed the Security Council resolution. The group expressed its “desire to initiate an exchange process” prisoners/hostages “immediately” and “to achieve a permanent ceasefire leading to the withdrawal of all Israeli forces” from the territory. “This must be the signal for the end of this onslaught of atrocities against our people,” said Riyad Mansour.
