Three people were shot dead Monday night in a residential neighborhood in the U.S. state of New Mexico.
The shooter, who was suspected of acting alone, was killed in an exchange of fire with police, during which two policemen were wounded. More than 200 mass shootings have occurred in the United States since the start of 2023, a record number for the past eight years. Just earlier this month, nine people were killed in a mass shooting outside a shopping center in the state of Texas.
