There are over 100 volunteer reading sponsors at the 15 primary schools in Geretsried/Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. During school, they support the children with reading in the morning and often with learning German.
“We need a lot more reading mentors,” says Birgit Kneuer, teacher and reading representative at the Wolfratshauser Hammersmith School. Reading sponsors rely on exercise material provided by the teachers as well as their own ideas.
