Venezuela described the transfer to the United States of the plane hijacked in Ezeiza as "blatant theft" "They have violated all the rules that regulate civil aeronautics," they questioned. The Venezuelan Government strongly rejected that the Emtrasur Cargo company plane had been detained by court order since June 2022.
The United States had requested its confiscation for alleged uses for terrorist purposes after the Bolivarian Government purchased it from the Iranian company Maham Air. The plane was delivered to the U.S due to a claim by that country's justice system.
