Verdi is also calling for warning strikes in southwest local transport. Verdi is currently negotiating in parallel in all federal states except Bavaria about better working conditions for employees of local public transport companies.
There should be no further strikes in this collective bargaining dispute up to and including March 3rd. The last time there were major public transport strikes in the southwest was in the spring of 2023. Back then it was about more money, but now it is about working conditions. The strike by the locomotive drivers' union GDL was only ended early on Monday morning.
