A major fire broke out in a decoration and furniture store Centrakor, in Orvault, near Nantes (Loire-Atlantique),. A total of 90 firefighters, in 22 machines and using nine water hoses, were sent to the scene to overcome the flames.
Four people were slightly injured and evacuated to the University Hospital of Nantes. Animals, which could not be evacuated in time, "were found dead," according to SDIS 44. Some were evacuated and saved.
