Natalio Lattanzi, mayor of Rufino, was brutally assaulted by municipal employees. He tried to enter the municipality during a strike for better wages.
The municipal demonstrators were protesting the lack of family allowances and problems in the provincial social work. The violent episode had the solidarity of national leaders, including the radical senator and pre-candidate for governor of Santa Fe, Carolina Losada. "I regret and repudiate the acts of violence against the mayor," Losada said.
