A large majority of French people are opposed to sending French soldiers to Ukraine according to a survey. The sending of Western troops cannot “be excluded,” Emmanuel Macron said on Monday.

The French president considered that there was "no consensus" at this stage for this hypothesis, and assumed a " strategic ambiguity" on this subject. According to a CSA poll for Europe 1, CNews and JDD, 76% of Frenchpeople are against sending French troops to Ukraine. Those aged 50-64 are nevertheless the most reluctant (85%) to send French soldiers.
